It might be longer if you reported your claim on a holiday or a weekend. If you haven&#8217;t heard from the adjuster after a full day, or if your situation is urgent,  contact the adjuster or your agent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">Your insurance policy is a contract. <br>It requires you AND your insurance company to do certain things.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Responsibilities in an Insurance Claim<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prevent further damage<\/strong> to any property until it can be inspected and repaired.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Respond promptly<\/strong> to any claim communication. That helps speed the process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep copies of any documents<\/strong> important to settling your claim. That might include: police reports; receipts; estimates; or notes of conversations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cooperate with the insurance company<\/strong> to settle the claim.
